Victor Custom Shop

The Victor SoundWorks Custom Shop provides design, manufacturing, and restoration services centered on equipment used in the playback and preservation of recorded sound. Drawing on the engineering traditions associated with the Victor name, the shop focuses on the careful construction and refinement of record players and related audio equipment built for long-term reliability and listening performance.

Work undertaken through the Custom Shop may include the design and assembly of custom turntables, restoration and servicing of vintage phonographs and record players, and the fabrication or modification of components intended to improve playback systems. Each project is approached with an emphasis on mechanical precision, material quality, and faithful sound reproduction.

In addition to individual builds and restoration work, the Custom Shop has collaborated with companies, cultural institutions, and organizations to develop custom products and limited production runs created for commemorative releases, special events, and institutional partnerships. These projects may involve the design and manufacture of bespoke playback equipment, branded editions, or historically inspired models produced to mark particular milestones or occasions.

The Custom Shop also supports the preservation of historical equipment by providing repair, restoration, and technical evaluation services for legacy playback devices. Working alongside the recording facilities of Victor Studios and the collections of the His Master’s Voice Official Museum, Memorial, & Archive, the Custom Shop operates within a campus devoted to the craft, technology, and history of recorded music.
